The Insights Transformation Index (InsightsTI) is a national transformation index that seeks to track progress made by South Africa since the dawn of democracy in 1994.
InsightsTI should be viewed in the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which are a global call to action to end poverty, protect the earth’s environment and climate, and ensure that people everywhere can enjoy peace and prosperity.
The index looks at what government, society and the private sector are doing to contribute to the social transformation of ordinary citizens.
Determines the extent to which South Africa compares to its trading partners in quality work, economic growth, innovation, infrastructure, production and investment.
The index looks at what government, society and the private sector are doing to improve governance, peace and security. Also shows what can be done to contribute to a just and equitable society.
The index looks at what government, society and the private sector are doing to contribute to the transformation of the environment for the benefit of ordinary citizens.
The Insights Transformation Index (InsightsTI) is carried out in consultation with an interdisciplinary board of advisors that helps to define the focus, identify challenges and debate project results. The InsightsTI core team is made up of 18 experienced researchers based in South Africa, most of whom have Masters, Doctoral or Post Doctoral qualifications. They are supported by final year university students.
The InsightsTI team has benefitted from the support, advocacy and counsel of many transformation experts and practitioners. The quality of the Transformation Index hinges on the quality of our reports.
