Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) constitutes a broadly defined discipline that is not constrained to primarily local application, but resonates with an enthusiastic global field of academic and other knowledge. IKS speaks to efforts to evoke an African Renaissance to address challenges of capacity and capability in the continent. The development of an African rooted system of knowledge was considered as central to the renaissance.
AnswertheCall-CED has established an IKS Resource Centre to support the growth and development of Indigenous Knowledge Systems in our country. Our key focus areas are:
- Research and Development
- Capacity Building
- Showcasing and Innovation
- Commercialization and Intellectual Property
